Steve Grasha – Division 1 Director, Desert Water Agency
Elected in 2022, Steve Grasha proudly represents Division 1 on the Desert Water Agency (DWA) Board of Directors. As a member of the Conservation and Public Affairs Committee, he plays an active role in shaping sustainable water policies that protect resources and serve the needs of the community.
Before joining DWA, Steve served from 2018 to 2022 on the Mission Springs Water District (MSWD) Board of Directors. His leadership on the Engineering and Finance Committees was instrumental in advancing critical infrastructure projects—most notably, the construction of the Desert Hot Springs Regional Water Reclamation Facility. Thanks to his efforts, the project was fully funded through state grants, saving local ratepayers nearly $70 million.
In the private sector, Steve built a reputation as a forward-thinking entrepreneur. He pioneered high-pressure stainless steel misting systems—an innovation now used widely in Palm Springs and beyond. As founder and CEO, he led his company to success for several decades before retiring in 2015.
Steve's commitment to public service extends deep into the community. He has held key leadership roles with several nonprofit and civic organizations, including Chairman of the Riverside County Leadership Forum’s Safe Water Project, Interim Executive Director of Food in Need of Distribution (F.I.N.D.), Director of Desert Community Outreach, and Disaster Services Coordinator for the American Red Cross. His dedication earned him the distinguished Volunteer of the Year Award.
With a career marked by innovation, leadership, and public service, Steve Grasha remains committed to delivering results that put the community first.
